CHANEL NATURAL FINISH LOOSE POWDER REVIEW
CHANEL NATURAL FINISH LOOSE POWDER REVIEW

Hello lovelies, I hope you are all doing fantastic 👌🏼✌🏼 On the blog today I will be doing another makeup review (yay!) and this will be the first one for 2017 – so I thought I’d make it super cool, which is why today I will be reviewing the Chanel Loose Face Powder 😍
If you haven’t already noticed by now, I ❤️ LOVE ❤️ luxury products and designer brands, and whilst I know that not everyone can afford them and sometimes it takes a bit of time to save to purchase something that’s on the luxury shelf, it’s still super helpful to read other people’s reviews and opinions so that the decision you make is informed and you’re not wasting your savings on something that you will end up hating! To be honest it is so hard to find good reviews for luxury products and that why I love writing them so that everyone knows what up!

Recently I ran out of my all-time favourite face powder (which is actually everyone’s favourite face powder) Laura Merciers Loose Translucent Powder and whilst I was devastated I thought it was time to venture out into the land of loose powder and try and find another one that I could love just as equally. SO… Whilst on a little holiday I went for a little wander around the Chanel department store and saw the gorgeous packaging on their loose translucent powder and kind of fell in love, however when I looked at the price tag I stepped back for a minute and spent the night contemplating whether I would purchase! To me the Chanel powder looked almost identical to the Laura Mercier powder and the next day I went ahead with the buy!
For a little background information – I bought the Chanel Loose Translucent powder in the shade (30) from a Myers Department store (however you can also buy from David Jones and online Chanel) the product provides you with 30g of powder – which is standard to most loose powders and I was set back a total of $75AUD. *for comparison the Laura Mercier is $55AUD and you get 29g of powder.
I always like to end my blog posts on a positive note, so first let’s talk about the things I didn’t like about the Chanel loose translucent powder. First of all, the obvious: this product is EXPENSIVE 😭 Obviously with a designer label comes a designer price tag and well this one is quite big! I say this because the iconic Laura Mercier Powder has 1g less product however is $20 cheaper and its raved about on almost every platform, so in that matter it’s pretty obvious which powder people are going to prefer (even for myself). A major issue I found with this product is that it builds up so much product on the beauty blender and even on its own beauty puff – I found that if I wanted to “bake” my face with the power, most of the product will stay on the beauty blender rather than transferring onto my face, this is particularly annoying because it means you are wasting a fair chunk of product 👎🏼👎🏼 The last issue I have to raise in regards to the Chanel powder, was that it didn’t leave me with a matte finish (and I know for some this would be a positive but for me, I really do like that matte look) on close inspection you can see tiny speckles of glitter on the skin which I am not going to lie isn’t really my kind of thang!

Okay so now that you have heard my spiel about the things that I didn’t like about the product I thought I would tell you all the things I love about it! The first thing that really stands out about this powder in particular is how amazing your skin looks and feels after you apply it – (honestly it makes my face feel like a cloud 😍☁️) for me in particular, sometimes powders can make my skin look dry and flaky which is not hot at all, but this one just works super well and I was really impressed by this aspect, also you get minimal flashback in photos using this powder which is a total win 🙌🏼 Another thing that really made like this product was that it ACTUALLY made my makeup last longer and helped keep oils away! This was stand out for me because that’s what I really look for in a powder, something that will keep my oil away and this does exactly that! I am not going to lie it is probably the best product I have used for keeping my oily skin under control! Sometimes when you buy designer makeup they can be real stingy with the amount of actual product you get… but Chanel powder actually comes with a standard amount of product (YAY!) so you feel like you get more of your money’s worth which is a massive win when your spending all your savings! Another feature of this product that I thought was really cool is that it comes in two translucent shades (one for more fair skin and one for deeper skin tones) I thought this was awesome as it suits the needs of everyone’s skin! & lastly let’s just take a moment of silence to appreciate how gorgeous the packaging is ✨
Okay so I think I have rambled on for long enough now…So would you like to know my final verdict!?! (drum roll please…🎶) I actually really do like the Chanel powder, I think the pros far outweigh the cons and I will definitely continue to use the product. Would I repurchase again!? Maybe not… As much as I do like the product I also think there are a lot of better face powders out in the market that are a fraction of the price! Will I be trying more Chanel products!? HELL YES ❤️💄 Keep your eyes peeled out for some more 😚☺️
Well lovelies internet friends, I think that is all I have time for today, but I will see you all (see you all in my statistics) in my next blog post!
Have an amazing weekend 🌻
